Experience the Benefits of an Ohio Medical Marijuana Card
Why become a medical marijuana patient in Ohio? For the tax savings and exclusive perks. Recreational cannabis is available at your local dispensary, but costs can add up. Your medical card acts as a savings pass!
Receive a 10% reduction on taxes and access medical-only promotions. More medical patients prompt dispensaries to provide greater benefits, so spread the word about becoming a cardholder today!
Medical marijuana patients are often subject to lower taxes than recreational consumers, making products more affordable. In Ohio, active medical marijuana patients are excluded from paying an additional 10% excise tax on cannabis purchases at licensed dispensaries.
Ohio dispensaries offer standing or periodic benefits exclusively to medical marijuana patients. Benefits may include discounts on products, special medical menus or menu items, expedited check-in / check-out, and dedicated parking.
Per state-specific regulations, medical marijuana cardholders generally have greater purchase and potency limits compared to recreational users. This helps reduce trips to the dispensary and achieve bulk savings. Updates will be provided as Ohio finalizes medical and recreational purchase and potency limits.
Valuable savings are offered to verified veterans and low-income customers at dispensaries. The Ohio Division of Cannabis Control provides Veteran and Indigent designations on medical marijuana cards for eligible patients. Dispensaries may rely on these designations to apply discounts. In order to obtain either status, you must first become an Ohio medical marijuana patient and then submit the appropriate documentation. Click here to learn more!
